How are cats treated?

2011 according to the eastern calendar is the year of two animals at once - Rabbit and Kota. According to legend, the Buddha Gautama promised to appoint twelve animals as "masters" of a particular year in the order in which the gathered animals would have time to swim across the river. However, Buddha was distracted by the bull and did not notice who was the first to go ashore - a cat or a rabbit. And so one fluffy symbol appeared at one year. Below we will talk about cats, or rather, about how cats are treated.

Cats walking by themselves, certainly reach for the house, where they are waiting for a warm place and a hearty lunch. And if the dog is a friend of man, then cat is a reliable companion, no less devoted and quick-witted. Not for nothing is man’s friendship with a cat dating back many centuries.

Exactly cats can be real healers for their owners, beneficially affecting the physical and mental state of man. Simple communication with the cat contributes calm and relieve nervous tension - enough to play with the animal, stroke the soft wool, listen to the gentle purr, as the mood rises by itself. With a cat, you can easily communicate heart to heart without fear that she will get tired of listening to you.

Cats are also able to help people suffering. hypertension, migraines, nervous disorders; surprisingly, while interacting with a cat, it is possible to lower the level of cholesterol in the blood, which means reduce the risk of heart attack. In addition, German scientists conducted a comparative analysis and found that the presence of a cat in the house prolongs life its owners. In general, it was noticed that the cat itself determines what exactly hurts a person and falls on this place, as if wanting to relieve the unpleasant sensations and remove the fatigue of his master that had accumulated during the day.

Cat therapy

For several decades, psychotherapy has been used in animal therapy - treatment with the help of animals. A special place in this industry is cat therapy - a method in which the cat becomes a real healer for people with various diseases, because the cat has a positive effect not only on the mental health of the patient, but also on the entire body as a whole.

For treatment, experts select adult animals older than two years. Color, gender and breed do not matter, but the main condition - such cats must be smart, friendly to people, affectionate and balanced. And of course, the animal must be completely healthy.

Cats help people with various diseases - they are used in work with elderly people in nursing homes; cats help those who need rehabilitation after trauma (physical or mental); cats alleviate the condition of people with mental disorders; they are involved in treating patients at drug treatment centers, etc. But the most popular cat therapy is among the little patients of children's rehabilitation centers. For children with diseases of the musculoskeletal system, the cat becomes the second doctor who helps along with graduates.

Treatments with a cat pass in different ways. For example, with older people, also those who suffer from mild nervous disorders classes can take place in groups - patients play with a cat, watching the graceful movements of the animal and its cute habits, receiving a charge of cheerfulness and good mood.

With severe ill the cat is left alone. For those who have experienced a heart attack or stroke. the fluffy doctor does not start funny games - the cat carefully and patiently licks the patient's fingers and purrs quietly (in such patients the sensitivity of the limbs is often disturbed and the cat itself finds a sore hand) - gradually the patient becomes better and begins to stroke the animal. Thus, contact with a living creature, its rough tongue and fluffy fur have a wonderful healing effect.

And of course, the cat is used as a "doctor" for psychiatric patients. In this case, the course of treatment takes several months and classes are built strictly individually, taking into account the characteristics of each particular patient. Cat caressing (cat purrs, tries to lick the patient) is favorably perceived by even the most difficult psychiatric patients (suffering from schizophrenia, mania, depression, etc.). The fact is that the cat's tenderness does not oblige a person to anything and at the same time helps him to relax, relieve tension. Cats generally have a remarkable ability, like highly experienced psychotherapists, to build emotional contact with any client.

In short, Kota's year is an excellent opportunity to make a mustached purr at home, which means to live longer, stay in a good mood and be less sick!
